Fire House KC, Formerly Fire Station No. 31, Opened Its Doors

The industrial elegance of the building is highlighted throughout the space. Our main floor event area features the pristinely restored original floor and a full bar area with an antique crystal chandelier.  Upstairs, the former offices and bunkrooms have been converted into four spaces for more intimate events. Outside, a courtyard area on the beautifully maintained fire house grounds is ideal for wedding receptions and cocktail hours.

The fire house was originally built in 1931 and was the only fire station in the midtown area and was the main respondent to this area for more than 40 years.  After the station closed in 1979, the building sat largely unused for the next 40 years. Now, with leadership from Sharon and John Hoffman, along with daughter Lynn and her husband Lance Carlton, Fire House KC is ready to serve as a gathering place and event space that will immerse guests in one of Kansas City’s most beautiful and enduring historical landmarks.
